GAF recruitment: Good news for applicants who failed medical screening

The Ernest Brogya Genfi, Deputy Minister for Defence, has announced that candidates who were unsuccessful at the medical screening stage of the ongoing Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment will be given another chance for reassessment.

In a Facebook post addressing prospective recruits for the 2025/2026 enlistment, he urged those who did not pass the medical examination to return to their respective assessment centres to learn the specific reasons for their disqualification.

He explained that applicants diagnosed with conditions that can be treated should seek appropriate medical attention, as they will be considered for a follow-up review.

According to the statement, the next round of medical assessments will be conducted free of charge, providing affected candidates an opportunity to address their health concerns and be reconsidered.

The initiative is expected to bring relief to many young Ghanaians who aspire to join the military but were initially turned away due to manageable medical conditions.

The Ministry of Defence has encouraged all affected applicants to take advantage of the opportunity and adequately prepare for the reassessment once details are officially announced.
