Musician Florence Obinim has dismissed rumours suggesting she underwent plastic surgery to achieve her current appearance.
Speaking in an interview on Angel TV in Accra, the wife of Bishop Obinim clarified that she has never gone under the knife, stressing that her physical transformation is the result of extended periods of fasting and prayer, not cosmetic procedures.
According to her, the weight loss was a personal sacrifice she made to support her husband during challenging moments in his ministry (International God’s Way Church).
“I don’t even know where plastic surgery is done. It is the love I have for my husband. When his church started losing ground, I decided to fast and pray. I stopped singing and focused on fasting and prayer,” she explained.
Florence revealed that she often embarks on intense spiritual fasts, sometimes lasting 30, 40, or even 120 days, which naturally leads to significant weight loss.
She added that both she and her husband are concerned about her gaining weight, making fasting a regular part of her routine.
“Anytime I gain weight, my husband complains, and I also don’t like being fat. So I lose weight drastically through fasting and prayers. I knew what my husband was going through, and I had to stand with him, even if it meant losing weight,” she stated.
Florence Obinim acknowledged the negative comments circulating online about her recent looks but emphasized that criticism will not discourage her, as she remains focused on her faith and family.
