NANA ADDO IS ONLY EXTENDING LOCKDOWN JUST TO PREVENT ME FROM CAMPAIGNING – JOHN MAHAMA

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and ex-President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has lambasted His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo for extending the lockdown during this coronavirus season.

Per the former President’s account, an extension of the lockdown is only a ploy by Nana Addo Danquah to prevent him from carrying out his campaign.

He said Nana Akuffo-Addo is very well aware that Ghanaians are tired of him and they intend to vote him out during the impending December Presidential and Parliamentary elections. According to John Mahama, Ghanaians are eager and willing to vote him back to power to continue the good works he was doing.

The only impediment now, according to John Mahama, is Nana Akuffo Addo who is using the COVID-19 as a strategy to ‘kill’ his campaign.

“My campaign team has prepared very well for the December elections and I am very sure that I will emerge winner if elections are held today. His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo knows very well that he is going to lose the upcoming elections so he has to devise a strategy,” John Mahama said.

He continued by saying; “He is using the COVID-19 as a tool to cripple my campaign. Why do you think he implemented the lockdown and has now extended it? The simple answer is that it is a way of preventing me to campaign.”

“He knows I am the master communicator and when there is no lockdown, there is no way he is going to convince Ghanaians to vote for him more than I could. This is gross and Ghanaians should condemn it.”

“We are in a democratic world and Ghana practices a multi-party system. It is inhumane to use COVID-19 to deprive other political parties to campaign just because you know you’d lose if you don’t take such action.”

He, therefore, called on all political parties in opposition to come together and fight for their freedom to campaign
