Manhyia South Member of Parliament and private legal practitioner, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has described an alleged attempt by persons identified as Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) officials to arrest him at the Accra High Court as an orchestrated “kidnapping”, raising fresh concerns over the circumstances surrounding the incident and its connection to investigations into the Ghana Jollof TikTok account.
Speaking to the press from the parliament house, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah said: "From the video circulating, I had to defend myself from the attempted kidnapping."
The confrontation reportedly occurred on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, after the MP appeared in court as lead counsel for detained nurse Salomey Awity Baffoe.
The attempted arrest was reportedly connected to claims that Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah had failed to respond to invitations issued by EOCO as part of its investigations into the Ghana Jollof TikTok account.
