Iran allowing limited passage through Strait of Hormuz: Report


Earlier, the maritime industry news portal Lloyd’s List reported that Iran allowed a Greek-owned bulk carrier to transit the Strait of Hormuz with its Automatic Identification System (AIS) turned on – a first since March 2.

Now, the Financial Times is reporting that Iran has been allowing passage of limited number of cargo ships even as the US, Israel attack is ongoing.

According to shipping data, at least six ships unloaded their cargo at Khomeini Port in Iran’s Khuzestan Province north of the Gulf, and crossed the Strait of Hormuz between March 15 and 16.

United Airlines preparing for oil to hit $175 per barrel: Report


United Airlines’ chief executive, Scott Kirby, said in a staff memo that he expects oil prices to remain above $100 per barrel until the end of 2027.

The airline is preparing for oil price spikes as high as $175 a barrel, Kirby said, according to a report from Reuters news agency.

Jet fuel prices have nearly doubled since late February, and if high prices hold, United expects its annual fuel bill to rise by $11bn.

Kirby said the airline plans to cut less profitable flights and will keep service to Tel Aviv and Dubai suspended.
