Ghana’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has reopened four major unresolved criminal cases and transferred them to its Cold Case Unit for renewed investigations.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on March 9, 2026, CID Director-General Lydia Yaako Donkor explained that the decision comes nearly nine months after the cases stalled without any arrests or court proceedings.
One of the cases is the mysterious disappearance of Paulina Lamisi Akambodipo, the NDC Tema West Women’s Organiser, who went missing from her Sowutuom residence in Accra on June 12, 2024, and has not been seen since.
Another case involves the tragic death of Stella Adjoa Potakedonko, who was found dead in her room at Tema Gulf City on February 11, 2024. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.
The Cold Case Unit is also revisiting the murder of Anthony Kudjo Tettey Ehiamah, a staff member of Dizengoff Ghana, who was killed at Oyarifa on September 8, 2024.
The fourth case is the fatal stabbing of Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Poley, a devoted Asante Kotoko supporter who died during clashes between Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC following a heated confrontation.
The CID has therefore called on the public to volunteer any credible information that could assist investigators in bringing those responsible to justice..
