Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic has offered his thoughts after his side was drawn into Group L for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The draw in Washington D.C. placed Croatia alongside England, Ghana and Panama in what is shaping up to be one of the tournament’s intriguing groups.
Dalic admitted the group presents challenges but insisted Croatia are fully confident and focused ahead of the competition.
He also downplayed Ghana as a major concern, while still showing respect for the Black Stars’ quality.

“We don’t care too much about Ghana. I know my friend Asamoah Gyan — we played together when I was in LA. I know there will be tough games. Ghana’s team is very strong and fast, and it is not going to be easy for us.
“Our goal is to go past the group stage. We’ll take it step by step. It won’t be easy. Full respect to Ghana — they will not be easy opponents,” he told 3Sports.
Croatia will begin their 2026 World Cup journey on June 17 with a blockbuster rematch against England — the same matchup from the 2018 World Cup semifinal — in either Dallas or Toronto, as Group L promises high-level competition from start to finish.
