The Special Advisor on Policy at the Office of the Vice President of Ghana, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has praised Ghana’s interoperable payment system which allows seamless payments between banks and mobile money accounts.
The unique instant payment system is renowned as the only one on the African continent with Ghana being the only country with such instant cross-payment system between bank accounts and mobile money wallets.
Speaking on GTV Breakfast Show on Tuesday, Ofosu Ampofo opined that this unique payment system has significantly impacted the country’s financial sector.
“Ghana is the only African country with fully interoperable instant payment systems, a unique achievement that has fuelled mobile money adoption, expanded e-commerce and promoted financial inclusion,” GTV quoted the Special Advisor on Policy at the Office of the Vice President as saying.
