Popular dancehall sensation Shatta Wale has hit back at critics accusing him of being involved in fraud.
Dancehall star Shatta Wale has become a trending topic on June 18, 2025, after news broke about the arrest of several Ghanaian individuals allegedly involved in romance and inheritance scams.
One of those arrested, Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng—popularly known as Kofi Boat—is reportedly a business associate of Shatta Wale, sparking widespread speculation on social media about the musician’s potential connection to the scandal.
In response, Shatta Wale released a video on social media firmly denying any involvement. He described the allegations as baseless and expressed frustration over what he called an unfair attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Shatta Wale asserted that he is “clean” and that the accusations stem from envy and comparisons with other artists who have not attained his level of success.
“You people are watching my life, and anytime there is an issue in Ghana, you like to drag me into it.
“You guys are making a mistake with my name. I am a very clean boy. Just because your artiste, your industry favourite, cannot pull the kind of things I can pull, you assume I am into fraud. You are free to tell people I am into fraud.
“One thing the white people coming here do is that they research. They are not stupid. They saw my Rolls-Royce and knew how I acquired the funds to purchase it. It’s music money. It’s not fraud; it’s hard work and dedication. So don’t make a mistake,” he said.
