Student involved in Adisadel College assault case granted bail

The Cape Coast District Court 2 has granted bail to the student at the center of the assault case that occurred at Adisadel College.

Presided over by His worship Eric Oheneba Antwi Boasiako, the court granted bail to the culprit, and he is scheduled to reappear before the court on August 2, 2023.

The court's decision to grant bail was due to the unavailability of the required number of persons to sit as jury over the juvenile case. As a result, the accused student was released on bail until the next court appearance.

Earlier this week, the student was arrested by the Police in Cape Coast and cautioned with causing harm and assault. Following his arrest, he was released to the school's Headmaster, who was instructed to produce him in court on Friday.

The arrest came after a video emerged showing a disturbing incident where one student violently attacked another in a dormitory at Adisadel College.

Meanwhile, the victim, who had initially been suspended together with the accused, has been recalled to the school.
