This year’s Founders day, which falls on Friday, 4 August 2023, shall be observed as a statutory public holiday.
“The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 4 August 2023 which marks Founders’ Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,” a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior signed by the Minister Ambrose Dery noted.
The new date for Founders’ Day was introduced by Nana Akufo-Addo by an Executive Instrument to commemorate the contributions of various forebears to the liberation of Ghana from imperialism and colonialism.
