Ghana and Thailand to deepen relations through rice production



The Honorary Consul of Ghana in Thailand, Dr. Sicha Singsomboon paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey as part of her tour in Ghana in relation to the Jospong Rice Project on Friday, 30th December 2022, at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.



During the meeting, Dr. Singsomboon stated that her visit to Ghana was to further deepen the longstanding cordial diplomatic ties between Ghana and Thailand.

She indicated Thailand's readiness to contribute to rice production in Ghana by transferring its farming technology and expertise to rice farmers in Ghana.

For her part, Ms Botchwey commended Dr. Singsomboon’s efforts to help deepen the relations between Ghana and Thailand through rice production.

She further congratulated the Jospong Group and its Chairman, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong for taking the initiative towards ensuring that the President’s call for increased rice production in the country is realised to reduce rice importation and create jobs for the Ghanaian youth.
