Broken-hearted pastor breaks into ex-lover’s house through roof & bash her mercilessly

A pastor from the Gathering of Saints church in Bulawayo shocked many when he broke into his ex-lover’s home and mercilessly assaulted her.

B-Metro reports that the incident happened on 23 March when 31-year-old Pastor Prosper Habuthusi Nkomo visited his ex-lover Maritha Khumalo (46) at his home in Entumbane.

Given how their relationship had ended, Maritha refused to let the Pastor into her home and instead locked herself in. But Pastor Nkomo was undeterred. He left briefly only to return at around 7 pm and to hide in a nearby maize field, anticipating that Maritha would eventually open the door.

Maritha was not fooled, however, as she had spotted her ex-lover going into the maize field. After realising that his plan was not working, Pastor Nkomo scaled over the precast wall and knocked on Maritha’s door. She did not open the door.

Pastor Nkom then climbed onto the roof, where he removed two asbestos sheets and jumped into the house from above. After gaining entry into the house, the man of God started assaulting his ex-lover.

A bleeding Maritha eventually made her way out of the house and sought sanctuary at a neighbours. He was later arrested and charged with physical abuse and malicious damage to property.

When Pastor Prosper Nkomo appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube, he readily pleaded guilty to the charges. He was convicted on his own plea and fined $10,000 for physical abuse.

On the charge of malicious damage to property, the Pastor was sentenced to 6 months of which three months were suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within a period of five years.

The other three months were suspended on the condition that he pays $22,680 as restitution to Jabulani Chirinda, the landlord, for the roof that he damaged.
