The Premier League is blessed with some of the best creators in the world and they will be fighting it out again in 2020/21 to win the Playmaker Award.
Kevin De Bruyne claimed the award for the third time in 2019/20, recording 20 assists over the campaign, equalling Thierry Henry’s record for the most in a single Premier League season.
It was a comfortable win in the end for De Bruyne – who was recently named the PFA Player of the Year – finishing seven assists clear of his closest rival, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. One assist back from Alexander-Arnold was team-mate and fellow full-back Andrew Robertson, who got off the mark against Leeds on the weekend with a corner assist to Virgil van Dijk.
The likes of Son Heung-min, Mohamed Salah, Riyad Mahrez, Adama Traore, Harvey Barnes and Roberto Firmino will all be vying to dethrone De Bruyne alongside some new arrivals too.
Chelsea have added talent to their attack in the form of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech, Manchester United now have Donny van de Beek, James Rodriguez is an Everton man and West Brom’s promotion has brought the 2019/20 Championship assist leader Matheus Pereira to the top flight.
