MCE for Bekwai Municipal Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour today visited Bekwai Market to interact with the traders.
He took the opportunity to assess the state of the market and also inspected the maintenance works undertaken by the Works Department.
The major concerns of the traders are poor drainage in the market, weak pillars, unavailability of toilet facility, poor lighting system among other minor issues.
The Works Department and Works sub committee who have started some rehabilitation works promised to work on the concerns raised.
The Environmental Officer also explained they have started work on the toilet facility inside the market to make it functional again.
The market women were happy the MCE has visited and asked that he visits frequently to know their problems.
